Korean Skincare Advent Calendar 2026: What to Look For (and Our 12-Door Pick)
Every year I tell myself I won't buy an advent calendar, and every year I end up reading contents lists at 1am. A K-beauty one is extra tempting, because Korean skincare is so routine-based that twelve little doors can basically turn into your whole winter routine.
I've also been burned. One calendar I bought a few years ago was half foil sachets and a nail file, and I opened the last door feeling kind of cheated. So I now have a very specific list of what makes a Korean skincare advent calendar worth it. This year we made our own, which means I had to hold it to the same list. Here's the list first, then an honest door-by-door look at ours.
1. Can you actually use what's inside?
This is the first thing I check. A thimble of serum is fun on day one and useless by day three, because you never get to see what it does. Full-size products are different. You get a few weeks with a serum, a whole tube of sunscreen, a lip balm that lives in your bag until it's gone.
The quick test: find the contents list and look at the sizes next to each item. If a brand doesn't show you the list before you buy, I take that as a no.
2. Do the math (it takes two minutes)
Add up what everything costs on its own, compare it to the calendar price, then divide by the number of doors. That last number is the one I care about, because it tells you what each door really costs you.
For ours, the items add up to $246.04 at regular price and the calendar is $82, so roughly two thirds off. Per door, that's about $6.83, for products that average around $20 each on their own. I'd still rather you run that math on any calendar you're looking at, ours included, than take a percentage on a banner at face value.
3. Mostly skincare, and things that work together
My personal rule is at least two thirds skincare. Makeup is a nice treat, but skincare is what you'll actually use every day in December. I also look at whether the doors make sense as a routine, so a cleanser, a treatment or two, a moisturizer, a sunscreen, a mask. A box of six serums sounds exciting until you realize you can't use them all at once.
Last thing on the list: where it ships from. Shipped from Korea, with brand names I can look up, is what I want to see.
Okay, so how does ours do?
Full disclosure, this is our first ever advent calendar, so I'd rather walk through it against my own list than just tell you it's great. The Baerry Magic K-Beauty Advent Calendar 2026 has 12 doors, it's a limited edition for Holiday 2026, and it comes in a pink box or a blue one.
Seven of the twelve doors are skincare, one is a cleansing balm, and four are makeup. Everything is 100% authentic, handpicked in Seoul and shipped from Korea, with brands like numbuzin, Sungboon Editor, PURITO, APLB and fwee. The full contents list is on the product page, sizes included, which already passes my first test.
The two serums I'd open first
The numbuzin No.2 Rose PDRN Collagen Plumping Serum is the full 30ml bottle, and it's the door I'd want first. It's the PDRN one, with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, and it doesn't have added fragrance, so it's easy on most skin.
Right next to it in my head is the Sungboon Editor Green Tomato NMN Pore Minimizing Ampoule (40ml). It's made for the look of pores and elasticity, and you use it morning and night after toner. If you're the person who stands too close to the mirror, this is your door.
The night cream (go slow with this one)
The Sungboon Editor Deep Collagen Retinol Power Boosting Capsule Cream is a gel with little yellow capsules in it. It has low-molecular collagen, retinol, hyaluronic acid and panthenol, plus micro spicules to help everything absorb. You scoop gel and capsules together, massage it over your face and neck, and pat it in.
Because it has retinol and spicules, I treat it as a night-only cream and start with a couple of nights a week, not every night. I also wouldn't use it on the same night as the blackhead pads below. If your skin is on the sensitive side, patch test first.
The door I'd save for a Sunday
The Sungboon Editor Blackhead Melting Clear Pad is a jar of 30 soft pads. You leave one on your nose or chin for 10 to 15 minutes, gently clear the area with a cotton swab, then rinse. They also have witch hazel to deal with excess oil, and sodium hyaluronate and allantoin to keep things calm.
This is not a quick-step product, it's a put-a-face-mask-on-and-watch-a-show product. Which is exactly why I like it in December.
The calming trio for when everything stings
Winter wind plus heating plus a retinol cream can make skin a little grumpy. That's where the PURITO SEOUL Wonder Releaf Centella Mini Kit Unscented comes in. It's a toner, a serum and a cream from the unscented Centella line, made for sensitive skin, and it's travel-sized, so it's the door I'd pack for holiday trips.
On the nights I skip the retinol cream, I just do these three and go to bed.
The one I'd use up first
Sunscreen is what I go through fastest, so a full 40ml tube is the most practical door in the whole box for me. The APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ has glutathione, niacinamide and centella, and it's described as going on without caking or a white cast, with a moisturizing but fresh finish.
If you're using the retinol cream at night, this is the non-negotiable morning step. Even in winter. Even when it's grey out.
A sheet mask for the night before something
The box has one APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Sheet Mask (25ml). It has a centella complex, hyaluronic acid and beta glucan for moisture, and vitamin C and niacinamide for glow.
I'd keep this door for the night before a party or a family dinner. If it turns out to be your thing, it also comes as a 10-pack.
And the fun doors
The rest is the treat part. There's the fwee 3D Voluming Gloss in B01 Vanilla 70, a milktouch Glow Up Collagen Lip Balm in Bubble Sugar or Berry Tart, the 2aN Dual Cheek in 18 Dear Rose and a set of TOKTOKHARA No Glue Eyelash lashes in Cherry Coke.
There's also an All Clean Balm (50ml) for the first cleanse at night, which matters more than it sounds when you're layering serums and SPF every day. So the box covers both ends of the day, cleansing at night and sunscreen in the morning.
How I'd actually open them
You don't have to start everything on the day you open it. What worked for me: start the serums and the sunscreen right away, since they're daily steps. Bring the retinol cream in on a couple of nights a week, and use the centella trio on the nights in between. Keep the pads for one slow night a week, never the same night as the retinol, and save the sheet mask for when you need your skin to behave.
I wrote a longer version of this in my 12-day plan for using a skincare advent calendar, after I messed up my first few doors so you don't have to.
So, does it pass?
Against my own list: the contents and sizes are all on the page, the per-door math works out to under $7, it's mostly skincare that fits together as a routine, and it ships from Korea with brands you can look up. The one thing I'd flag is that it's not a beginner-only box. The retinol cream and the pads need a little patience, so read the notes above before you open those doors.
If you're still comparing, read every contents list line by line and go with the calendar whose doors you're most excited about. One last practical note: discount codes and other promotions can't be applied to this one.

FAQ
Entscheide dich danach, was du wirklich täglich nutzt.
