Don't Skip Your Neck: The K-Beauty Creams and Sunscreens I Use Below the Jawline

Don't Skip Your Neck: The K-Beauty Creams and Sunscreens I Use Below the Jawline

A video call did it. The camera was sitting low on my desk, I was looking down at my notes, and the little preview box showed me a set of lines across my neck I had genuinely never noticed. My face routine had about six steps. My neck had zero, because in my head skincare ended at the jawline.

So this fall I started an actual neck care routine. Nothing fancy, mostly the same habits I already have for my face, just taken a few inches lower. Here's what I learned and the Korean products I've been using.

Why the neck gets left behind

The skin on the neck is thinner than most of the face, and it moves constantly. Every time you look down at your phone it folds, which is where the whole "tech neck" thing comes from. It also gets sun all year and almost nobody puts SPF on it.

What I do now is simple. Whatever cream goes on my face keeps going down to my collarbone, applied with upward strokes, never dragging the skin down. Sunscreen goes there too. That's most of it.

The one with a roller on top

If you want a product that is just for your neck, Eiio Intensive Firming Neck Cream is the one I'd point you to. The tube has a roller massage applicator, so you squeeze a little out and roll it up from your collarbone toward your jaw. It's kind of relaxing at the end of a long day hunched over a laptop.

It's made to give the neck moisture and nutrition and to help with skin elasticity. The ingredient list has hydrolyzed collagen, adenosine, niacinamide, a peptide, several types of hyaluronic acid and ceramide NP. It does have fragrance, so heads up if that bothers you.

Jelly that bounces back

The texture of YOUR CHOICE Ceravine Firming Cream is what got me. It's a firm, bouncy jelly that wobbles a little when you scoop it, then sinks in once you press it with your palms.

It has a phyto amino acid complex, 10 layers of hyaluronic acid and panthenol, and the brand's patented ceravine solution for hydration. The directions talk about the face, but I just keep going down the neck with whatever is left on my hands.

Mix it yourself

I'm Sorry For My Skin Capture Firming Enriched Cream has little peptide capsules floating in a jelly essence. You scoop some gel and a capsule with the spatula, mix them together, then massage it in.

It's built around elasticity care, with 20 amino acids and peptides plus adenosine, which is there for wrinkle care. I like it on nights when my neck feels tight after a day in a heated office.

Pink capsules, face and neck

Another capsule cream, I know, but Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Capsule Cream literally says to use it on the face and neck, morning and evening, after serum. That's exactly the habit I'm trying to build.

It pairs PDRN and collagen for elasticity, niacinamide for a more even tone, and hyaluronic acid with ceramide for hydration. You decide the ratio yourself: more gel if you want it lighter, more capsule if you want it richer. I go heavier on the capsule for my neck because it's the driest part of me in winter.

A gentler start than retinol

I was nervous about putting anything strong on thin neck skin, so I started with bakuchiol. Purito Seoul Timeless Bloom Bakuchiol Serum has Jeju hydrangea extract, bakuchiol and peptides, and it's made with elasticity and fine lines in mind.

The directions say to spread it over the face and neck before cream, and it's labeled dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. It can go on day or night, but if you use it in the morning, sunscreen after is a must.

The part everyone skips

Creams are nice, but if I could only change one thing it would be this: sunscreen on the neck every single morning. APLB Collagen EGF Peptide Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ is lightweight and doesn't leave a white cast, which matters when you're spreading it all the way down to your collar.

It also has collagen, EGF peptide and centella, and it's dermatologically tested for sensitive skin.

Nobody reapplies lotion sunscreen to their neck at 2pm. A stick, though, I will actually do. Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sun Stick is SPF 50+ PA++++, glides on without a sticky film, and has birch sap, niacinamide, adenosine and peptides in the mix. It lives in my coat pocket for walks at lunch.

My neck didn't change overnight and I'm not expecting miracles, but it feels softer and less tight, and I finally stopped treating it like it isn't part of my face. If you want more options, everything is in our cream collection.

FAQ
