Skincare Advent Calendar: Your 12-Day K-Beauty Routine Plan

The week my calendar showed up, I opened three doors in one night and put everything on at once. Do not do this. My cheek felt warm the next morning and I had no idea which product did it.

So this is the skincare advent calendar plan I wish I'd followed from the start: one door a day, actives spaced out, sunscreen in the mornings, retinol at night. It's built around the Baerry Magic K-Beauty Advent Calendar 2026, which has twelve full-size products inside.

The rules I made after that night

Patch test first. Every door is something you haven't used before, so I dab a little on my jawline the evening before it goes on my whole face. Especially the retinol cream.

Then, one door a day, even when the next one is sitting right there. And only one new active at a time. Retinol, niacinamide and PDRN are all in this box, and if you start them together you'll never figure out which one you actually love.

Days 1 to 4, a.k.a. the easy part

Day one is the All Clean Balm, which is a gentle way to start. I just used it as my first cleanse at night and didn't add anything else. Day two is the APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++, mornings only, on top of whatever moisturizer you already use.

Day three is the numbuzin No.2 Rose PDRN Collagen Plumping Serum. Patch test it the night before, then it can go into both your morning and night routine. Day four is the milktouch Glow Up Collagen Lip Balm, which needs zero planning. Mine lives in my coat pocket now.

Morning or night, roughly

Not everything in here is an every-day product. The sunscreen is mornings only. The retinol cream is nights only, and just two or three nights a week at first. The PDRN serum is fine morning and night. The pads are one to three times a week, the sheet mask once a week, and the gloss, cheek and lashes are whenever you feel like wearing makeup.

Days 5 to 8: calm stuff first, then pores

I like that the PURITO Wonder Releaf Centella Mini Kit lands on day five. If the new serum made your skin a little moody, there's a calming step ready now. I reached for it on a night my face felt hot after a long windy walk home.

Day six is the Sungboon Editor Blackhead Melting Clear Pad. Two or three nights that week, not every night. My skin got flaky the one time I ignored that. Day eight is the fwee 3D Voluming Gloss, a nice breather door.

Day 7, the ampoule I almost rushed

The reason is timing. The retinol cream shows up two days later, and I didn't want two brand new things fighting for the same nights. Mornings can come later, once you know how your skin feels about it.

Day 9 is the main event

The Sungboon Editor Deep Collagen Retinol Power Boosting Capsule Cream is the star of the box, so I gave it the slowest start of anything. Patch test, then nights only, two or three times that first week, with your moisturizer after.

I kept it on different nights from the ampoule until I knew how my skin liked each one. Kind of boring, but it's the reason I could actually tell what was doing what.

Days 10 to 12, masks and the fun stuff

Day ten is the APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Sheet Mask. I made it my Sunday night thing: cleanse, mask, then the retinol cream after, or skip the retinol completely if it's an off night.

Days eleven and twelve are the Dual Cheek and the TOKTOKHARA No Glue Eyelash. No rules here.

If your skin gets dramatic easily

Go slower with the retinol cream: once a week for the first two weeks, then build up to two or three nights. I'd also open the centella kit early, around day two or three, so it's there whenever you need it. Keep the ampoule and the retinol on separate evenings, and don't drop the morning sunscreen (there are more lightweight ones in suncare if you want a backup).
